Lady Foley
Grand Tour
The Grand Tour started in the late 17th Century as a tour of the great estates and grand homes of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland to complete the education of young nobles and gentry. The idea was to expose them to fine architecture, art, music and culture to turn them into sophisticated and worldly adults. By the second half of the 18th Century the tradition had spread to the northern countries in Continental Europe with affluent Americans and other nationalities participating. When rail and steamships made travelling easier, the tradition extended to the middle classes. Often a Grand Tour could last from several months to several years.

Lady Foley Grand Tour is hosted by The Hon. Alexandra Foley and her partners and friends, many of whom own the great country houses in the United Kingdom. Alexandra provides her guests a taste of Great Britain at its most glamourous over a period of one or two days. The most efficient and comfortable transportation is used, including a range of helicopters. During visits to select historic country houses, guests have an opportunity to spend time with their owners over lunch or tea, offering a rare glimpse into a world which most people only read about or see on television.
Lady Foley Grand Tour offers also access to private art collections, historic gardens and classic and vintage car events, among many other options. Traditional country sporting pursuits including shooting and fishing can be arranged along with professional lessons and guidance on etiquette and attire.
For guests wishing to have a taste of high society life in London, private visits to exclusive places such as The House of Lords and Kensington Palace are offered together with an entree to the leading private clubs and social events during the Season.
Lady Foley Grand Tour experiences are tailored to meet the desires of each guest or small group.
